Gender, Inequality and Labour Markets: Future of Work in the Global South

The Dialogues on the Future of Work in the Global South: Narratives from South and South East Asia gathered experts to discuss their views on the current challenges and opportunities presented by technological change for countries in Asia, towards exploring alternative narratives that may demand new evidence or call for different policy frameworks.

As a part of the Dialogues on the Future of Work in the Global South: Narratives from South and South East Asia, we hosted Dr. Janine Berg, Senior Economist at the International Labour Organisation; Ms. Bama Athreya, Economic Inequality Fellow at Open Society Foundations; and Dr. Hue Tam Jamme, Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at Arizona State University. The panelists explored the labor market and the structural reforms necessary to create an economy that works better for women, enabling them to partake and avail the benefits of technological change.

This event was organized in partnership with the Center for the Implementation of Public Policies Promoting Equity and Growth (CIPPEC), Argentina.
